ScanPocket Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
This policy explains how ScanPocket handles information. ScanPocket is developed by Kleverr Studio.
Summary
ScanPocket processes documents entirely on the user's device. We do not operate a document-processing server, require an account, include advertising or analytics SDKs, or collect, transmit, sell, or share document content.
Data leaves ScanPocket only when the user deliberately invokes an Android share, print, export, or file-picker action. The destination then handles the data under its own privacy policy.
Information accessed or created
- Camera images captured when the user starts a scan.
- Individual images or PDFs explicitly selected with system pickers or deliberately opened/shared to ScanPocket from another Android app.
- Cropped images, PDFs, signatures, and password-protected PDF copies.
- Text produced by on-device OCR.
- Structured KTP or passport fields such as NIK, name, address, passport number, nationality, and validity dates.
- Local metadata such as title, date, page order, paths, and text.
- PDF passwords, which are used for the requested operation and are not stored in ScanPocket's database.
How information is used
Information is used only for user-requested scanning, edge detection, image enhancement, PDF creation, search, import, merge, split, signing, printing, sharing, OCR, searchable PDFs, identity field extraction, and passport MRZ validation.
Image processing runs locally using bundled native components. Text recognition uses Google ML Kit's on-device library. ScanPocket does not upload images, PDFs, text, identity fields, or passwords to Kleverr Studio or Google for these operations.
Storage and security
Documents and metadata are stored in the app's private storage and local database. Android sandboxing limits access by other apps, and Android backup is disabled for ScanPocket.
Security also depends on the user's screen lock and device encryption. Normal stored documents are not independently password-encrypted. The optional password-sharing feature creates a protected sharing copy and does not encrypt the original stored document.
Permissions
- Camera: used only when the user starts a camera scan; it is not accessed in the background.
Photo and PDF imports use Android system pickers or a temporary URI permission granted when the user chooses Open with/Share to ScanPocket. These flows grant access only to the selected item. ScanPocket does not request location, contacts, microphone, SMS, call log, or broad photo-library access.
Sharing and third parties
ScanPocket never shares data automatically. When the user selects an external action, Android sends only the chosen content to the selected destination. That destination's privacy policy then applies.
The app includes local components for ML Kit text recognition, OpenCV-based edge detection, PDF processing, and Android system interfaces. It includes no advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting service.
Retention and deletion
Data remains locally until the user deletes a document, selects Hapus Semua Dokumen, clears app data, or uninstalls ScanPocket. Deletion removes local images, PDFs, extracted text, and database records. There is no account or server copy held by Kleverr Studio. Previously shared or exported files must be deleted from their destinations separately.
Children's privacy
ScanPocket is a general productivity tool and is not specifically directed to children. The app does not transmit user content to the developer.
Changes
If data practices change, this policy and its update date will change. Material changes will also appear inside the app and Google Play listing.
